A pedestrian was killed and three others were hospitalized after a vehicle struck four people at Broadway and Fourth Avenue in downtown Nashville on Saturday around 12:30 p.m. Metro Nashville Police said the driver was 87 and from Kentucky.
The crash turned a busy downtown intersection into an active police scene as the Metro Nashville Police Department's Traffic Division took over the investigation. One person died at the scene, and three others were taken to the hospital.
Police have not yet released the identities of the people involved, and they have not said what led up to the collision. That leaves the central question of the crash unanswered even as investigators work through how a vehicle came to strike four pedestrians in one of Nashville's busiest areas.
