Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi says her hysterectomy is coming very soon, five months after she first said she had been diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer. In a health update posted Tuesday, July 21, on TikTok, the Jersey Shore alum said she has already done blood work and an EKG and is trying not to panic as the next step gets closer.

Polizzi, 38, said the surgery will not be done laparoscopically. Instead, she said doctors will use a larger abdominal incision similar to a C-section, while leaving her ovaries in place. That detail makes the update more than a routine check-in: it shows she is moving from diagnosis to surgery, with the procedure described as very soon but not dated.

She said a recent PET scan confirmed the next treatment steps and that the scan used radioactive material, which caught her off guard. Polizzi said she had to stay away from her kids for the rest of the day afterward, adding that she was basically a walking Chernobyl for the rest of the day. She also said, “It didn’t spread,” underscoring the strange split in her update — the cancer had not spread, yet the surgery is still necessary.

The missing piece is why the operation has to be open rather than laparoscopic. Polizzi did not explain the medical reasoning, only that her surgery is very soon and that she is losing an organ, as she put it, while the ovaries are being left in place. For now, the next date that matters is the one she has not given: the day the hysterectomy actually happens.
