That was the point of the night: Kidman was not just backing the series, she was doing it in a look that linked the red carpet to one of the season’s freshest fashion stories. Zoe Saldaña, Laysla de Oliveira and Jill Wagner walked the carpet with her, while Jason Bolden styled the outfit, Danielle Priano shaped her long blonde hair into a soft blowout with curtain bangs, and Kate Synnott finished the look with a smoky brown eye, warm blush and nude lip.
The choice also marked a sharp turn from the easier, Italian-riviera feel that has framed some of Kidman’s recent style. Kidman is promoting the third season of Lioness, and the series is already being pushed as a next big turn for the actor after a run of high-profile fashion appearances. Yet the runway-to-red-carpet story will not stop with this premiere. Practical Magic 2 is on the way for fall, which means the next few months should bring more of the same kind of visibility, and likely more wardrobe swings as Kidman moves from one project to the next.
