Terry Matalas is spearheading the project, making this the final piece of a run that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along.
That matters because Bettany’s return gives the trilogy a clear anchor at a moment when the Marvel Cinematic Universe has sharply cut back its Disney+ output. For fans who have followed the thread from WandaVision through Agatha All Along, the arrival of Vision Quest means the story is no longer drifting between series; it now has a finish line in sight.
WandaVision set the board in motion by turning Wanda Maximoff into the Scarlet Witch, giving Monica Rambeau her abilities, creating Billy and Tommy, and leaving Vision resurrected as White Vision. Agatha All Along, released in 2024, carried Agatha Harkness’s and Billy Maximoff’s story forward and made the trilogy label feel less like fan shorthand than a real structure. Vision Quest now inherits that work and is expected to complete it in October this year.
There is still a gap at the center of it. Bettany is back, Matalas is steering the finale, and the release window is set, but the exact story Vision Quest will tell has not been spelled out.
