Universal has announced two Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness haunted houses for Halloween Horror Nights, one at Universal Studios Hollywood and one at Universal Orlando. The two separate and unique houses are built as a tribute to Osbourne’s solo career and his music, turning some of his best-known songs and album eras into a walk-through scare.
The announcement lands now because Osbourne remains one of the most searched names in heavy metal, and this is a fresh Halloween Horror Nights headline built around his catalog. The houses draw from Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, No More Tears, Scream and Ordinary Man, while his solo hits such as Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley, Shot in the Dark and Mama, I’m Coming Home give the concept its spine.
The Hollywood house starts in Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham, England, with Crazy Train guiding visitors through his early childhood before they reach the Osbourne Asylum. That makes the Universal Studios Hollywood version more of a story-led journey, while the Orlando house is built around the visual identity of Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, Ultimate Sin and Black Rain album covers. The difference is simple: one leans into a narrative path, the other into album artwork and its darker imagery.
John Murdy said Osbourne created a cultural phenomenon that has influenced generations of music, art and horror, and Universal says the Osbourne family collaborated on the two houses. The family called out how Osbourne never stopped pushing boundaries and loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music and the worlds he created, adding that visitors will recognize moments inspired by his music and imagination.
That tribute carries a sharper edge because Osbourne died in July 2025, less than three weeks after his Back to the Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham. Universal is not hiding that timing; it is leaning into it, framing the houses as a continuation of the world he built rather than a rewind to a safer, older version of the brand. The company has done this before, too: Universal Studios Hollywood created the Black Sabbath: 13 3D maze in 2013, and Osbourne and Geezer Butler toured it on opening night.
What Universal has not said is when the two haunted houses will open. For Halloween Horror Nights fans, that leaves the next reveal as the one that matters most: the date the doors open and the tribute becomes a walk-through house instead of a headline.
