Ryan Eldredge said the final teaser “keeps the story moving while leaving fans wanting more,” a line that fits the way the campaign has been handled from the start. He also said the park has enjoyed watching guests and coaster enthusiasts develop theories over the past few weeks, and that the latest chapter adds to the anticipation as the countdown to July 28 continues.
The company is leaning hard into the suspense while still holding back the answer. Guests visiting Six Flags Great Adventure can still see construction walls, themed elements and the mysterious shipping container along The Boardwalk, but the park is not yet saying what the attraction actually is. That is the point of the campaign, and it is also the friction running through it: the mystery is being promoted in public even as the name and details stay locked away until the reveal.
Project Purple is being described as the next major evolution of The Boardwalk district, which recently opened Shoreline Pier and its collection of new family attractions and experiences. The July 28 event will settle the central question and tell guests whether Bakunawa is the final attraction name or only the code name for what comes next. Either way, the park has already made the date the story.
