Lacey Chabert and Scott Michael Foster are bringing Paris Is Always a Good Idea to Hallmark+ on July 30, and this time the story runs for six episodes instead of the usual one-and-done movie. The first two installments arrive that day, with new episodes following every Thursday until August 27.

That rollout is drawing attention because Chabert’s new project puts Chelsea, the character she plays, at the center of a longer trip through Paris, Spain and Ireland. She travels to Paris for work with her colleague Jason, played by Foster, then receives an unexpected message from her late mother that pushes the story in a different direction. By the end, Chelsea is also reconnecting with three former flames, which gives the series a more layered shape than a standard romantic film.

In an exclusive chat with Woman’s World, Chabert said she loves how tenacious Chelsea is and described her as a woman with a big heart. She also pointed to the food as part of the appeal, listing pastries, croissants, French onion soup and steak frites among her favorite bites while filming in Paris. Foster had his own recommendation from the Spain leg of the production: basque cheesecake in San Sebastian.

The format is part of what makes this project stand out. Hallmark is best known for heartwarming romantic films, but a six-episode series gives the cast time to live with the characters instead of racing through their story in a few weeks. Foster said the production spent about two and a half to three months with the characters, and that the extra time let the team explore them more fully while working in Paris and Spain. He said that longer stretch made the experience richer, and that it comes through on screen.

There is still a lot the rollout has not yet answered. The series follows Chelsea after her mother’s message, but how that message changes her choices across the six episodes remains part of the draw. What is clear is that Hallmark+ is betting on a slower burn: two episodes on July 30, then one new chapter each Thursday through August 27, with Chelsea’s journey unfolding one stop at a time.
