Angie Katsanevas and Shawn Trujillo have broken up after 27 years of marriage, ending a relationship that began in June 1999 and had long been presented as a partnership built to last. The split was reported in 2025, and it marks a major turn for a couple whose family life and business interests had been closely linked for decades.
Katsanevas, a star of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, had only recently been posting about Trujillo in affectionate terms. In a 2025 Instagram post, she joked that she booked a blow dry after seeing him on the cover of a romance novel in a grocery store checkout, writing, “The rest is HAIRstory.”
That kind of public praise makes the breakup land harder. In June 2023, Katsanevas wrote that Trujillo had been by her side since Elektra’s first breath, while Trujillo later called loving her a privilege and said knowing her was a blessing. The pair also owned a hair salon franchise together, and their daughter, Elektra, is 15.
The marriage was not without public scrutiny. During the run of season four, Katsanevas addressed rumors about Trujillo’s sexuality, saying people had asked whether he was gay when he was doing hair, while Trujillo framed the issue more bluntly as one of infidelity. He also said the couple had been embedded in the gay community for 30 years because of their work.
What has not been made public is whether the breakup will turn into a formal divorce or whether either of them will speak about what happened. For now, the clearest fact is that a marriage that survived nearly three decades, a child and a shared business has ended.
