Angie Katsanevas and Shawn Trujillo have separated after 27 years of marriage, ending a long-running public partnership that tied their family life to TV and business. They married in June 1999 and share a 15-year-old daughter, Elektra.
The separation is landing now because interest in Katsanevas has been building around her long public marriage and the way it has played out in and around Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. She co-founded Lunatic Fringe Salon with Trujillo the same year they wed, which made their relationship part of the story well beyond their home life.
That scrutiny did not start this week. During Season 4, rumors circulated that Trujillo was cheating on Katsanevas with several men, allegations he denied. In October 2023, he said on Watch What Happens Live that the issue was infidelity, not a gay-straight matter, and added that the couple had been embedded in their gay community for 30 years through their business while he backed her and took the hits.
The new split also sits uneasily beside what came before it. Katsanevas did not post on Instagram to mark their 27th wedding anniversary last month, then on June 13, 2025, she posted a message that referenced #26YEARS and described meeting him as if it were yesterday. Days later, she said on Watch What Happens Live that they were still married, even as multiple reports later said the couple had separated.
That is the gap now: whether this is a legal path toward divorce or a separation without that step remains unanswered. Season 7 of RHOSLC began filming in late February and wrapped in late May, so the franchise may have already captured at least part of the final stretch before the split became public. If it does come up on screen, it will not just be a relationship update. It will be the latest chapter in a marriage that has been discussed publicly for years, and the first time the end of it becomes the story instead of the rumor around it.
