Disney Consumer Products unveiled the Disney | Champion NFL Collection at Fanatics Fest NYC, putting Disney, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar characters alongside all 32 NFL teams in a new line of tees, crewnecks and sweatshirts. The launch, created with the NFL, Champion and Fanatics, gave fans their first look at a collaboration that will spread across multiple retail channels later this year.
The timing matters because the debut landed in the middle of Fanatics Fest NYC, where the first eight team-character pairings were revealed through the Disney Fan Draft and early access opened through the Disney | Champion Fan Zone. Bret Healey said the collection was built around the idea that consumers see fandom as part of personal style, and he described the pieces as expressive, collectible and culturally relevant.
The first Disney Fan Draft Picks were Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Darth Vader and Hamm, each tied to team identities ranging from classic cowboy imagery to aviation roots and the Hogs legacy. Fans could also join a waitlist for updates on their favorite team, a sign that the rollout is being staged in pieces rather than dumped all at once.
That slow reveal undercuts the idea that this is only a one-off novelty. Disney Consumer Products is also leaning on an existing sports presence, folding the collection into Disney and ’s Year of the Super Bowl and framing it as part of a broader push across sports culture rather than a standalone experiment.
The remaining team-character pairings will be revealed in August, which is now the key date for anyone waiting to see how the full set is assigned. By then, merchandise for all 32 NFL teams will be available on Fanatics.com, NFLShop.com, DisneyStore.com and at select Lids locations nationwide, making the first Fanatics Fest reveal less of a finale than the opening move of a much larger retail rollout.
