Prince William's cameo in Eugene Levy's travel comedy series The Reluctant Traveller has earned two Emmy nominations, turning a brief royal appearance into an awards-season talking point. The show was recognized for Outstanding Writing For A Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special after William appeared in October 2025.
The nomination gives the royal cameo a reach far beyond Windsor Castle, where William greeted Levy by e-scooter and later led him on a personal tour. In one exchange during a walk through Windsor Great Park, William asked whether getting drunk with Prince William was on Levy's bucket list, and Levy shot back, “That's the bucket,” before William joked about sleep and three small children.
Those nominations matter now because Emmy recognition is not awarded for appearance alone. A program has to clear the writing category on the strength of its structure and storytelling, and it also has to fit the rules for a hosted nonfiction series or special. That is why The Reluctant Traveller can surface in two separate races from the same appearance: one nod goes to the writing and the other to the format and host-led presentation that carried the episode.
The same awards cycle has also placed Meghan Markle back in the conversation, after she announced on Instagram that With Love, Meghan had been nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Series. But the framing has not been entirely neat. One senior editor described that recognition as a Daytime Emmy, a smaller and less glamorous branch of the television awards than the Primetime Emmys, which means the victory lap around Markle's post lands with a catch.
For William, the silence is the next part of the story. He has not acknowledged the nominations on social media accounts, even as his October 2025 appearance is now tied to two Emmy nominations and his name sits beside Markle's in the same awards conversation. If he chooses to respond, it will likely be the first public sign of whether he sees the nod as a curiosity, a compliment or something more serious about how royal television moments are being judged.
