That is why the Spider-Man: Brand New Day release date is drawing attention now. The film is the only MCU movie on the calendar before Avengers: Doomsday, so whatever Marvel Studios chooses to put after the credits would carry more weight than usual. Tom Holland is at the center of that interest, even though none of the Spider-Man actors have been confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday yet.
Marvel Studios has spent nearly 20 years training audiences to stay seated after the credits, using those scenes to tee up the next story, land a final joke or introduce a cast member.
