Manuel Garcia-Rulfo says filming on The Lincoln Lawyer season 5 is done, drawing the final season of the Netflix drama to the finish line after months of production that began in March. In an Instagram post, he wrote, “It’s a wrap on season 5,” turning a cast update into the clearest sign yet that the series has reached the end of the road.
That is the reason fans are looking for updates now. Netflix ordered one last installment of 10 episodes at the start of the year, and the show is no longer in production. Garcia-Rulfo also used the post to say he was “excited for what’s to come,” even as he told followers that “all good things must come to an end.”
The wrap matters because The Lincoln Lawyer season 5 is not just another cycle of episodes. It is the final one, and it will adapt Resurrection Walk, the book that brings Mickey Haller back into a fight over a woman who was wrongfully convicted of a crime. The season also puts Cobie Smulders in the cast as Emi, Mickey’s half-sister, a character introduced by the end of season 4 and now set to become a series regular as Mickey takes on a habeas petition.
Garcia-Rulfo’s post gave the production milestone its weight. He thanked Netflix, A&E Studios, David E. Kelley, Ted Humphrey, Dailyn Rodriguez and Ross Fineman, and he singled out Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole and Angus Sampson as family. He also posted a photo of himself behind the wheel of Mickey Haller’s 1963 Lincoln Continental with the license plate NTGUILTY, a small image that fit the message better than any formal announcement could have.
That ending carries a little friction of its own. The series is closing out even though Netflix renewed it for a final 10-episode season, and the show is adding new names such as Nate Corddry, Tricia Helfer, Amy Aquino, Angela Trimbur, Elpidia Carillo, Keir O'Donnell, Diane Guerrero, Patty Guggenheim, Corbin Bernsen and Chris Diamantopoulos for the farewell run. The line between celebration and goodbye is thin here: one message marks completion, and the next question is how long viewers will wait before they can see the final version.
Netflix has not announced a release date for The Lincoln Lawyer season 5, so the finished shoot now shifts attention from the set to the schedule. For viewers, that means the story is over in production terms, but the last drive with Mickey Haller has not yet reached the screen.
