Fox has revealed the Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 5 cast, setting up a new run of the competition that puts 15 celebrities through some of the harshest challenges on television. The group includes names from reality TV, sports, acting and comedy, with Collin Gosselin among the recruits now heading into the jungle.
The cast list is built to draw attention because it mixes familiar faces from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Selling Sunset with an NBA Champion, an NFL Superbowl Champion and a World Champion Boxer. Fox also said the season will begin Thursday, September 24 at 9 p.m. ET, which is why the Special Forces season 5 cast is drawing searches now.
Among the names confirmed are Matt Barnes, Alycia Baumgardner, Candace Cameron Bure, David Charvet, Brandi Glanville, Collin Gosselin, Oliver Hudson, LaSean McCoy, Maxim Naumov, Ruby Rose, George Santos, Hannah Stocking, Breana Tiesi, Alexia Umansky and Mauricio Umansky. Barnes is an NBA Champion and podcaster. Baumgardner is a World Champion Boxer. Bure is a former The View co-host and actress. Glanville comes from RHOBH, while Tiesi and the Umanskys bring Selling Sunset and Buying Beverly Hills into the mix.
The season is not built like a normal reality contest. There are no votes and no eliminations, so the only way through is to keep going. That matters because the recruits will be dropped into Malaysia, live in the jungle and take on trials drawn from the actual Special Forces selection process. Among them are a claustrophobic search of an underground bunker, a supply retrieval suspended 300 feet above the jungle floor and a chemical gassing challenge while searching for coordinates of an enemy vessel.
That setup leaves the season with one clear test and one clear question: which cast member can endure it longest. Fox has packed the lineup with a former TV personality, an expelled U.S. Congressman and several stars with big followings, but the series usually sorts fame quickly once the training starts. Episodes will stream the next day on Hulu, and the opener will show whether the attention-grabbing Special Forces Season 5 cast can handle the pressure once the bunker doors close.
