Bryce Dettloff and Trinity Tatum won Love Island USA Season 8 on Sunday, taking the top spot in the finale after viewers cast the most votes for them. Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt finished second, while Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea placed third and Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou came in fourth.

The win ended a six-week run that began in early June, when the Peacock dating show brought a new group of Islanders to Fiji in pursuit of love and a $100,000 prize. Only four couples made it to the last round, and the final vote decided which pair walked away with the title.

Dettloff and Tatum’s path was anything but straightforward. They coupled up on the first day, drifted toward other connections early on, then found their way back to each other and stayed together through the Casa Amor twist. They later made their relationship official, and they were the only finalists to say “I love you” during Sunday’s finale.

After the results were announced, Dettloff said the moment felt like a dream, while Tatum said she was overwhelmed by the victory. She said she never would have expected to be in that position and said she was grateful that he chose her to be his partner inside and outside the villa. Dettloff said he loved her, said every day felt special with her and said he could not wait for life after the show. He also said he wanted to teach her how to surf for their first date away from the cameras.

The finale also leaned into the franchise’s habit of stretching one success into the next. The finalists received video messages from Lizzo, Demi Lovato, Alex Warren, Sombr, Kesha and Kehlani, while Peacock confirmed a Season 8 reunion special for August 31 and renewed Love Island: Beyond the Villa for a third season. That spinoff follows Islanders after they leave the show and is expected to return in 2027.

The viewer vote settled the season, but it also left a neat divide behind it: Dettloff and Tatum were the couple that found each other again and lasted, and the rest of the final four now head into the reunion with one question hanging over them — how the pairs that missed the title will explain the choices that brought them there.
