Andy Park has posted a Marvel Doomsday Cast Illustration on Instagram that gives the first official look at how the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers and the X-Men will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. He called the artwork “a beast to paint,” and said the piece officially reveals the characters and their looks in the film for the first time.

The post lands while Avengers: Doomsday is still in post-production and before any official trailer has been released, which helps explain why Marvel Fans are seizing on the image now. Teasers already circulating on YouTube have only added to the appetite for anything that shows the film’s cast in full, especially with a Dec. 18 release date on the calendar.

Park’s name carries weight with this reveal because his path through Marvel Studios stretches back 16 years, beginning with Captain America: The First Avenger before later concept work on Deadpool and Wolverine and The Marvels. That background is part of why the illustration feels less like a random promo image and more like a marker from someone who has watched the studio’s biggest characters evolve from the inside.

The reaction, though, was not uniformly celebratory. Some fans praised the artwork, while others questioned it, with one comment calling it “Looks fan made,” a reminder that first looks can stir doubt as quickly as excitement. Park’s own account suggests why the piece took so much effort: he said it was “truly an honor,” that he felt the challenges, victories, teamwork and relationships behind the production, and that the journey had mattered as much as the final image.

Park has now left Marvel Studios after 16 years as part of Disney’s layoff, so the post also reads like a farewell from one of the artists who helped define the studio’s visual language. The next thing readers should watch is whether Marvel Studios follows this image with a trailer that confirms how much of the film’s look is still being held back, or whether the illustration remains the clearest preview until Avengers: Doomsday reaches theaters on Dec. 18.
