Marvel Studios is not showing signs that Loki Season 3 is in development, and the gap is being filled by VisionQuest. The shift matters because Tom Hiddleston’s run as Loki helped make the character one of the most watched parts of Marvel’s Disney+ push, and now the studio appears to be steering its next character-driven sci-fi series in a different direction.
That is why the question is circulating now. Marvel Studios is building toward Avengers: Doomsday in 2026, and VisionQuest is already on the calendar for October 14, 2026. For viewers who followed Loki from its 2021 debut as the third live-action MCU series on Disney+, the timing makes the absence of a third season stand out even more.
Loki earned its place by mixing humor, emotion, time travel and multiverse ideas into a story that felt larger than its setting. By the end of Season 2, Loki accepted an extraordinary new responsibility tied to the Multiverse itself, and that ending gave the series a sense of closure. That is also why viewers have been left wondering whether Marvel might still revisit it, even as the studio moves ahead without any clear signs of development.
VisionQuest is built to occupy some of the same space. It continues the story that began in WandaVision and centers on Vision as he searches for the memories and identity he lost after S.W.O.R.D. transformed him into White Vision. Paul Bettany returns in the role, with James Spader as Ultron, while Todd Stashwick and Ruaridh Mollica also join the cast. The setup points to a psychological sci-fi adventure focused less on spectacle alone than on who Vision is when the memories are gone.
That is the real trade-off Marvel appears to be making. Loki ended with a conclusion that felt complete, but not necessarily final in the minds of fans, and VisionQuest is now the series carrying the studio’s next stretch of identity-driven sci-fi storytelling. If Marvel does not move forward with Loki Season 3, the answer is already on the schedule: the next chapter will belong to Vision.
