Rudolph Baumann of Manitowoc took home $3.8 million after matching all six numbers in the June 24 Megabucks drawing, turning a ticket bought at a Kwik Trip in Saukville into the biggest prize the Wisconsin Lottery has awarded in 2026.
Baumann’s winning numbers were 1, 8, 12, 24, 26 and 27. Megabucks players pick six numbers from 1-49, and matching all six wins the jackpot, which starts at $1 million and is drawn twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The odds are one in 7 million, a reminder that even a game built around long shots can still land on one named player.
The win also marked only the second Megabucks jackpot claimed in 2026. The first came on Jan. 28, when a $1.5 million ticket was sold at Millgate General Store in Burlington. That makes Baumann’s prize the top Wisconsin Lottery payout of the year so far, even if it did not come close to the state record of $22.2 million set by John Rumpel in 2015.
That gap matters because it puts the size of the prize in perspective. $3.8 million is life-changing money, but in Wisconsin Lottery terms it is not the biggest jackpot ever and not even the kind of prize that rewrites the record book. It is, instead, the largest prize the lottery has handed out in 2026, which is why the win stands out now.
What Baumann plans to do with the money has not been made public, and that is the only real blank left in a story that is otherwise complete. The ticket has already done its work, the numbers have been matched and the prize has been claimed. For Baumann, the next step is not another drawing. It is deciding what to do with $3.8 million.
Megabucks is separate from Mega Millions, the larger multistate game whose jackpot can climb to hundreds of millions. This win belongs entirely to Wisconsin, and for Baumann it came from six numbers, one ticket and a rare night when the math worked in his favor.
