Big Brother season 28 is bringing its live feeds to YouTube for the first time on Friday, July 10 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, but the stream will not stay up around the clock. CBS says the YouTube version will be available only for limited periods following each episode, even as the full feeds remain on Paramount+ and Paramount’s Pluto FAST service.
The move gives viewers another place to follow the season, and it arrives just as the show is set to return with a 90-minute premiere on Thursday, July 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The timing matters because fans searching for Big updates now want to know where the live feeds will be when the house starts moving, and YouTube will be part of that answer — just not in the same way as the other services.
Before the feeds open, the cast will be revealed live on YouTube at noon ET/9 a.m. PT in what Paramount and CBS are calling the inaugural Big Brother: Broveal. Julie Chen Moonves will open the door to the Big Brother: Time Trip-themed house during that livestream, giving the rollout a clear on-camera kickoff before the season’s first full night of feed access arrives hours later.
That is also where the fine print matters. The show is describing the feeds as 24/7 Big Brother live feeds, but the YouTube version will not actually run continuously. CBS says it will be available for limited periods following each episode throughout the summer, while the full feed experience stays on Paramount+ and Pluto. The structure suggests YouTube is being used as a sample window and a promotion tool, not a replacement for the all-day viewing that longtime fans expect.
The schedule around the launch is unusually packed. The hourlong Big Brother: Unlocked airs Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the live feeds go live an hour later, and a 90-minute Sunday episode follows on Sunday from 8 p.m. ET/PT to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday episodes will also run 90 minutes, and Big Brother: Unlocked will air each Friday night throughout the season. Later this summer, the franchise will become the first primetime series to reach 1,000 original episodes, and Paramount says the coming season will have the most original hours of programming in 25 years.
For viewers, the answer is now clear: YouTube gets a place in the Big Brother ecosystem, but not the whole thing. The full feeds stay where they have been, and the new channel opens only in controlled bursts after episodes, leaving the size of each window as the one detail CBS has not spelled out.
