EA SPORTS launched College Football 27 worldwide today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and mobile, giving the series its broadest release yet and its first version built on Frostbite. The game is now available across consoles, computers and phones as EA SPORTS pushes the franchise into a new phase of access.
The timing matters because this is the launch day readers are searching for, and because the new release is not just a platform expansion. It is also the franchise’s first mobile debut, with College Ultimate Team arriving on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store while EA Play members get a 10-hour trial, a Welcome Pack and recurring monthly College Ultimate Team Packs. EA Play Pro members get full access to the EA SPORTS College Football 27 Pro Edition, 500 CUT Points every month for 12 months and a total of 6,000 CUT Points through June 2028.
On the field, the game tries to capture how college football now works, not how it used to. It reflects NIL, coaching movement, recruiting, player development and game day traditions, while also adding all-new dynamic weather, expanded Road to Glory positions and over 1,500 new plays. The roster includes thousands of current athletes and more than 300 real coaches, a scale that helps the game feel current even as it leans hard on pageantry and school pride.
That mix is where College Football 27 gets its edge. Evan Dexter called the sport a tension-filled transformation and said the game was built around a choice between campus traditions and individual glory. That is the cleanest way to read the launch: EA SPORTS is selling a celebration of old-school identity at the same time it centers a fast-moving athlete market and the personal incentives that come with it.
The biggest unanswered question is how much the new mobile rollout will grow after launch. EA SPORTS says more features are coming soon, but has not spelled out what they are, leaving mobile players with access to College Ultimate Team now and a fuller version of the experience still to come.
