The first trailer for The Wrong Girls shows them as Frankie and Molly, two broke stoners who stumble into chaos after they consume it, with Seth Rogen voicing a talking cat named Dio.
The trailer gives the film its sharpest pitch yet and puts Stewart at the center of both the cast and the production. She produces the film with Maggie McLean and Dylan Meyer for Nevermind Pictures, while Alia Shawkat joins her on screen as the other half of a pair whose lives start unraveling the moment the strange substance kicks in.
That matters because the official setup is broader than the trailer’s wildest jokes. The Wrong Girls is described as the story of two codependent best friends living paycheck to paycheck who get caught in a case of mistaken identity, which is the kind of premise that can play as grounded farce or full-tilt stoner absurdity depending on how the film holds together.
