FX has set the AHS 13 release date for Sept. 24, putting a firm premiere on the next season of American Horror Story and ending the guessing about when the anthology will return. The season will stream on Hulu, and Ariana Grande is among the names attached to the new installment.

That date is the reason viewers are searching now. A franchise that has kept its audience by turning each season into a separate story is back with its 13th run, and the cast alone gives this one unusual weight: Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman and Paul Anthony Kelly are also aboard.

The announcement came through a video Ryan Murphy shared on Instagram on Oct. 31, 2025, but the release date has now moved the conversation from casting to the calendar. The clip used a black screen and the show’s signature font to roll out the names, then ended with a line from Madison Montgomery in American Horror Story: Coven: “Surprise, b****. I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.” That nod matters because it points back to one of the show’s most familiar characters while leaving the season’s exact shape unsaid.

Grande’s presence is also a clean reunion for Murphy. She first worked with him in Scream Queens, and Emma Roberts and Billie Lourd were there as well, which gives the new season a built-in link to one of his earlier ensemble projects. What FX has done, in effect, is put a date on a season that already has franchise history, star power and a deliberate tease behind it.

The remaining question is the practical one: whether the Sept. 24 premiere refers to this year or a later one. That is the part the announcement does not spell out, even as it confirms that American Horror Story season 13 is on the way and that Hulu will be the place to watch it when it arrives.
