Netflix has cast Colin Woodell, KJ Apa and Diane Guerrero in its new Harlan Coben series Myron Bolitar, putting a face to one of the streamer’s next book-to-screen bets. Woodell will play Myron Bolitar, Apa will play Win Lockwood and Guerrero will play Esperanza Diaz.
The casting is the latest sign that Netflix is keeping its Harlan Coben TV shows pipeline moving. Myron Bolitar is based on Coben’s 12-book series, and the character at its center begins as a promising athlete whose NBA dreams end after a major injury before he restarts his career as a sports agent.
That setup gives the project a familiar Coben formula: a central character with a career in motion, a built-in fan base from the books and a platform that already knows how to turn his work into series. Netflix has already adapted over 13 of Coben’s books to screen, making Myron Bolitar another piece of an ongoing partnership rather than a one-off gamble.
The people steering this version are just as established. David E. Kelley and Kyle Long will serve as showrunners, writers and executive producers, while Matthew Tinker, Coben, Rick Muirragui and Greg Yaitanes are also executive producers. That is a strong lineup for a project that is clearly in motion, but not yet ready to give viewers a calendar date.
For now, that is the catch: the cast is set, the creative team is in place and the series has its source material, but Myron Bolitar still does not have an official release date window. The next real news will not be another vague update; it will be the point at which Netflix decides this one is far enough along to put on the schedule.
