Hulu has returned to the Fox Hollow Farm case with Return to Fox Hollow: New Victims, Darker Secrets, a new episode that pushes the Fox Hollow Murders investigation forward with fresh leads, witness accounts and questions about whether Herb Baumeister acted alone. The release comes as Hamilton County coroner Jeff Jellison says his team has identified two people since the original docuseries aired.
The new episode follows the Emmy-nominated four-part docuseries The Fox Hollow Murders: Playground of a Serial Killer, which helped generate about 500 leads. Jellison said that kind of response matters because the case centers on 10,000 remains discovered at Fox Hollow Farm in 1996, one of the largest unidentified human remains cases in the United States and, by the numbers, the second largest after 9/11. He said the remains sat on a shelf in a box for 30 years, and the point of reopening the case in 2022 was to move them toward identification and give families answers.
That work has already produced results. Jellison said the new leads have led to new revelations, and the team has identified two people since the original series aired in 2025. He said the effort includes the Indiana State Police DNA team, the University of North Texas, the Othram DNA lab and the FBI when needed, which gives the case a forensic push it never had for decades.
The harder question is still the one the new episode keeps circling: whether Baumeister acted alone. Jellison called Mark Goodyear an interesting witness because he said he saw bodies burning in a pit behind Baumeister's house, but he stopped short of calling him a suspect. That is the friction point in the case now — the investigation has fresh names, fresh leads and fresh identifications, but not yet a complete answer to how one person could have done this by himself.
For Jellison, the direction is clear. He wants the remains identified, he wants them moved off the shelf and he wants the families to get answers, and the new Hulu episode suggests the search is still far from finished.
