Sullivan's Crossing is headed back for season 5, but viewers will have to wait. The show is expected to premiere in 2027 on CTV, with episodes set to move later to The CW and then Netflix after the Canadian run.
That long runway explains why interest around Sullivan's Crossing season 5 is spiking now: the next chapter is already locked in, but the cast picture is not. Amalia Williamson said she would love to go back, though her return depends on working around her filming schedule for You’re Killing Me. She said, in effect, that she does not know yet, and that she misses her Sullivan's Crossing family.
The show has also already cleared one major threshold by bringing in a fifth season. On screen, the story is still carrying the weight of what happened at the end of season 4, when Maggie and Cal finished in a good place after a brief breakup and Cal proposed to Maggie. That came after season 4 dealt with the return of Maggie's ex-husband, Liam, and after season 3 ended with Sully leaving for Ireland, a move that season 4 followed by opening the next day with Sully still overseas.
The biggest uncertainty remains Sully himself. Before season 4 premiered, Us Weekly reported in March 2026 that Scott Patterson would not reprise his role, even though Patterson later wrote that the creative differences had become untenable and that the show was not something he could agree to continue. He also said it was unfortunate to see it implied that they had moved on from him and Sully when, in his view, the opposite was true. The show, for its part, has said the character remains an important part of the world and could still be included in future seasons if that fits the creative direction.
That leaves season 5 with a clear destination but an unfinished cast list. Sullivan's Crossing has already proven it can move past major turns in the story, including the arrival of Tracy, who was brought to Maggie and Cal by a social worker after her foster parents could no longer care for her. The next confirmed step is simply the rollout: first in Canada, then on The CW, then on Netflix. What is still unknown is whether the series returns with the same core family dynamic, or keeps shifting around the absences already built into the story.
