Brianna Johnson, the 21-year-old social media creator known as dreamdoll_brii, was killed early Sunday when gunfire ripped through the lime green SUV she was riding in with two other passengers in Miramar. Police said the shooting happened around 5:30 a.m., just hours after the Fourth of July holiday, and the vehicle was hit so hard that it drifted through an intersection and crashed into a nearby house.
Johnson had built a following that stretched across TikTok and Instagram, with nearly 500,000 followers in all, making her death instantly visible beyond South Florida. Her TikTok account, _itgirlbri, had about 388,000 followers, while her Instagram account had roughly 88,800, numbers that help explain why the news spread quickly and why the case is now being watched far outside Miramar.
Police said the SUV was a lime green Lamborghini Urus when a white sedan pulled alongside the driver's side and opened fire, striking all three occupants. Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss described the gunfire as rapid-fire, and police were alerted after multiple ShotSpotter notifications in the area. Surveillance video reportedly captured the shooting, giving investigators a clearer view of the attack even as they continue searching for the people involved.
What makes the case harder to square is what came before it. According to a local report, the three victims had attended a large party at a nearby home and later stopped at a gas station where a fight allegedly broke out, yet investigators also believe the SUV was targeted and followed. That leaves two paths that may not fit neatly together: a confrontation that began off the road, and a car that police think was being tracked before the shooting started.
Johnson succumbed to her injuries, and the two other passengers were also struck, turning a few seconds of gunfire into a fatal triple shooting. The next step is plain enough: investigators are still trying to identify who opened fire and why a luxury SUV carrying a young influencer became the target just after dawn.
