Wambach matched the moment in a three-piece tuxedo with tails, a white waistcoat and a pocket chain, while the pair later wrote on Instagram that they hoped Swift and Kelce felt surrounded by concentric circles of love and support from family, friends and global admirers.
That message carried extra weight because the wedding was not a private exchange between two people. Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden in front of 1,000 family members and famous friends, a setting that made the guest list part of the event’s story as much as the vows themselves.
There is still one piece the public has not seen: photos of the newlyweds’ ceremony outfits have not yet been released. The bride and groom were dressed in haute couture looks from Christian Dior, but the details remain out of view, which leaves Doyle’s lyric-clutch and the guests’ fashion choices doing much of the work until those images surface.
The wedding also echoed the pair’s own line from last year, when they wrote, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” Doyle and Wambach signed off as “your retired English teacher and PE teacher,” a neat return to the joke that framed their congratulations and kept the focus on the new marriage, the people in the room and the image everyone is still waiting to see.
