Oliwia Wudarowicz says Alexander Westwood raped her in January 2021, after acting lessons that began only weeks earlier, and that the abuse helped destroy the dream she had built around performing. She has waived her right to anonymity to speak publicly about what she says happened.
She is now 21 and living in the West Midlands, but the past still sits close. Wudarowicz says she still scrubs herself hard in the shower and has nightmares, a sign that the violence did not end when the lessons did.
Wudarowicz says she was 16 when the abuse began. Westwood, who had minor roles in 's Doctors and Netflix's Sex Education, was later convicted of sexual offences against her and four other victims and sentenced to 15-and-a-half years in prison. That outcome followed a case that was first closed for lack of evidence before the investigation was reopened in April 2023 after other victims came forward.
Her account begins in December 2020, when she started taking lessons from Westwood. By the third lesson, she says he told her to change in front of him and asked whether she was a virgin. In January 2021, she says he ordered her to masturbate in front of him and told her that because he was her teacher she had to do what he said.
That warning, along with what she says was a contract requiring 365 lessons or payment of up to £36,000, left her feeling unable to speak out at the time. She told her mother and police in August 2021, but the case did not move forward until other victims came forward nearly two years later. The case that followed was broader than her own: the conviction covered her, a girl abused from the age of six, a boy abused when he was between nine and 10, a woman and a second teenage acting student.
Westwood was from Albrighton in Shropshire, and Wudarowicz says the sentence does not feel like enough. She has said he should be in prison for far longer, and that if she has children, they will be walking the same streets as him. For her, the conviction closed one chapter, but it did not end the fear.
