Floyd Mayweather Jr. was supposed to be back in the ring in Greece on Sat. June 27th, 2026. Instead, the fight never happened, after a lawsuit from CSI stopped the exhibition bout and his team called it off at the last minute.
The cancellation is now drawing fresh attention because Dana White spoke about Mayweather's money troubles after Sunday night's Zuffa Boxing 08 event. White said he had talked with Mayweather but did not know enough about the dispute, then added that he would have to wait to see how it plays out in court. He said it was horrible when someone who built that kind of wealth loses it, or sees it stolen, and suggested that Zuffa might be able to help figure it out for him.
CSI says the blocked fight was only part of a larger dispute. It claims Mayweather signed contracts to fight Mike Tyson next and had already taken millions of dollars in advances. The company filed an injunction to keep him from fighting, which is why the Greece bout with Mike Zambidis was stopped before it got underway.
That fight over money is unfolding while Mayweather is also suing multiple former partners, accusing them of stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from him. At the same time, he is dealing with claims tied to non-payment, breach of contract and writing bad checks, a mix that makes the public picture of his finances look far messier than a simple missed date on a boxing calendar.
CSI still wants the next version of the story to be profitable. It is pushing for Mayweather to box Mike Tyson in September and Manny Pacquiao sometime in 2027, which suggests the cancellation in Greece may not be the end of the business fight around him. For now, the bigger question is whether any promoter can actually put Mayweather back in the ring without another court fight getting there first.
