WWE is expected to sign Zilla Fatu after he was recently seen at the WWE Performance Center, a move that would put another family name into the Bloodline picture. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select said the company is expected to bring him in if it has not already done so, leaving the exact contract status unresolved even as the reporting points toward a deal.
The reason the interest is drawing attention now is simple: Zilla Fatu is not just any prospect. He is the son of Umaga, the current House of Glory Crown Jewel Champion, and one of the more talked-about names on the independent scene. Earlier this year, he faced MJF for the AEW World Championship at a House of Glory event, and he also wrestled in Mexico for Crash Wrestling in May. Those appearances have kept him visible while WWE appears to be looking at him as a player it can use quickly.
That speed matters because WWE reportedly wants him tied to the Bloodline story, not parked in NXT for a long stretch. The logic is plain: if the company is bringing him in to add to that family-driven angle, then the payoff is bigger when he is involved in the main storyline sooner rather than later. Roman Reigns has been pushing to reform the Bloodline after capturing the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, and The Usos and Jacob Fatu are already part of that mix.
There is, though, one practical problem that keeps the story from closing cleanly. The report says it is unlikely Zilla Fatu has a work visa that would allow him to appear at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia this weekend. That makes a fast debut there improbable even if the signing is done, and it leaves WWE with a choice between waiting for the paperwork to clear or using him later once the fit is cleaner.
Recent booking moves suggest the company wants the Bloodline side of the board to keep moving. Plans in recent weeks have had Roman Reigns send Jacob Fatu to SmackDown to recruit Solo Sikoa back to The Bloodline, while the MFTs have officially split off from Solo Sikoa. In that setting, Zilla Fatu is less a side note than a possible new piece in the same family chess match. Whether he has already signed or is still in the final stages, the direction is clear: WWE wants him in the Bloodline picture, and it wants him there soon.
