Braden Shewmake is part of the Astros’ 10-day injured list with a right adductor strain, joining Nick Allen and LaMonte Wade Jr. Houston also heads into this one after winning a series over the Toronto Blue Jays, a useful sign for a team that has been playing good baseball in June and trying to keep moving back toward relevance. Detroit, by contrast, has been a disappointment this season after opening as the odds-on favorite to win the AL Central.
