Olivia Rodrigo has set a benefit festival for Aug. 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California, turning the Daisy Chain Fields festival into a one-day show built around women’s music and women’s causes. The announcement, made Monday, puts Rodrigo at the center of an all-women lineup that includes Chappell Roan, Doechii, Katseye and Stevie Nicks.
The festival is being framed as more than a concert bill. Its net proceeds will go to organizations serving women and girls, and the list of 10 beneficiaries includes Jhpiego, the Johns Hopkins University Center for Indigenous Health, Black Mamas Matters Alliance, the National Women’s Law Center and Planned Parenthood. Rodrigo said in an Instagram post that she had dreamed of doing the festival for years and was “so ecstatic it’s finally coming true,” adding that she believes joy, community and music can drive meaningful change.
That promise lands with particular weight for two groups tied to Johns Hopkins University. The Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health marked its official opening in 1991 and relied on the federal government for 60% to 65% of its funding before budget cuts eliminated much of it. Jhpiego, which has been around since 1973, received more than $352 million in fiscal year 2025, a 133% jump from the year before, yet also laid off employees in 2025. The festival’s benefit pitch is broad, but the support system behind it is not always simple.
Rodrigo has become a proven draw well beyond the festival circuit. Her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, topped the Billboard 200, and her previous albums, Sour and Guts, did the same. That gives the Daisy Chain Fields event a built-in audience, but the unresolved piece is the most practical one: how much the festival will raise and how the money will be divided among the 10 beneficiaries. For now, the date is fixed, the lineup is set and the charity claim is tied to a specific place in Irvine.
