The image arrives with extra weight because Harry has spent years explaining why he wanted his family’s life to look different from the one he grew up in. In a 2021 conversation on Armchair Expert, he spoke about “genetic pain and suffering” being passed on and said he had moved his whole family to the U.S. to change that pattern for his own children. Harry and Meghan stepped down from their duties as senior members of the British royal family in 2021, and they have been parenting Archie and Lilibet in Montecito, California since then.
