MAPPA has released the first trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen season 4, and the studio says Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4: Culling Game Part 2 is diligently in production. The new footage gives fans their first look at the next chapter, but it stops short of the one thing many have been waiting for: a release window.
That is why the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4 teaser trailer is drawing so much attention now. The anime’s third season finished airing earlier this year, and the franchise’s next step is finally visible, even if the calendar is not. Junya Enoki and Megumi Ogata spoke about the series’ future during MAPPA’s 15th anniversary Lineup Announcement video, and the trailer followed soon after, turning a celebratory studio presentation into a real update for viewers.
The footage does more than confirm motion behind the scenes. It shows Maki Zenin and Kinji Hakari, then teases fights that place Hakari against Kashimo and Yuji against Sukuna. It also shows Choso and Yuki teaming up against Kenjaku. Those matchups matter because they point directly to the Culling Game arc, which season 4 will continue adapting after the story moved through earlier stages of the fight-heavy narrative.
MAPPA’s wording leaves the clearest opening in the story untouched. Saying the season is in production tells viewers the work is active, but it also confirms that the studio is not ready to say when it will arrive. That gap matters because Jujutsu Kaisen has become one of the biggest titles in the franchise, which began in 2018 as a sequel to Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, later retitled Jujutsu Kaisen 0. It has since expanded into an anime series, multiple video games and stage plays, with more on the way.
The safest reading is that the new trailer is a signal of progress, not a launch notice. Fans can take the footage as proof that season 4 is moving ahead, but the real next question is still the same one MAPPA did not answer: when will the new season actually be ready? For now, the answer appears to be that production is underway and the waiting continues, with Anime Expo 2026 in July now the most likely place for the next meaningful update.
