MAPPA used its June 19 anniversary livestream to drop a new trailer for Chainsaw Man's upcoming Assassins Arc, giving fans their first fresh look at the next chapter while stopping short of saying when it will arrive. The footage centered on the lineup of killers after Denji and even slipped in a guest appearance from Kobeni's car.
The timing matters because MAPPA chose its 15th anniversary event to make the reveal, and that made the trailer the day's sharpest Chainsaw Man update. Junya Enoki appeared during the 'JuJu talk special edition' segment, but the manga-to-screen question fans care about most still hung in the air: MAPPA did not confirm a release date or say whether the Assassins Arc will be a TV season or a movie.
That left the trailer doing two jobs at once. It confirmed that MAPPA is moving the project forward, but it also showed how little is settled beyond the visuals. For a franchise with a built-in audience, a new teaser usually narrows expectations. This one did the opposite, widening the gap between what MAPPA is ready to show and what it is ready to announce.
The anniversary stream also packed in more than one franchise update. MAPPA released a trailer for The Culling Game Arc Part 2 and said the next Jujutsu Kaisen season is diligently in production. It confirmed that Dorohedoro season 3 is currently in production, said Ranma 1/2 season 3 will debut in October and stream exclusively on Netflix, and announced Jimoto Saiko!, Beat & Motion and Fall in Love, You False Angels across 2027 and beyond.
Chainsaw Man also picked up a gacha-focused mobile game, with MAPPA dropping a trailer for its opening movie set to All the lynch!!! All the mince!! by Maximum the Hormone. Those announcements made the livestream feel like a full slate reveal, but the Assassins Arc remained the one project where the headline question was still unanswered.
MAPPA is headquartered in Nagano, Tokyo, and the anniversary event carried the sense of a studio setting out its next run of releases rather than making one clean announcement. For Chainsaw Man, the new trailer is a clear sign of motion. The missing date and missing format are now the story, and until MAPPA names one or the other, the Assassins Arc remains a project in view but not yet in line.
