Morgan Wallen is set to play Memorial Stadium in Clemson on Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27, and the campus is already changing traffic and parking patterns to make room for the concerts. The two shows, part of his Still The Problem tour, will bring paid and free concert parking across campus starting at 10 a.m. Friday.
The timing matters because the same week is already crowded. Clemson Home Summer Programs will welcome the NewSpring Gauntlet camp beginning Sunday, June 21, and that camp is expected to bring approximately 3,000 guests to campus. Setup begins Thursday, June 18, participants arrive throughout the day Monday, June 22, and College Avenue will be closed from North Clemson Avenue to Highway 93 from Monday through Thursday at noon.
Several other closures will stack on top of that schedule. Avenue of Champions will be closed between Centennial Blvd. and Williamson Rd. from June 25 through June 27, Williamson Rd. will be closed between Ave. of Champs and Fort Hill St. from June 24 through June 28, and locations marked as Area Closed will be in effect from June 18 through June 30. The Centennial Blvd. closure outside of the West End Zone and continuing west into Lot 5 will run from June 18 through June 29.
That overlap is what makes the week hard to manage. Concert traffic, summer camp arrivals and move-in activity are all landing in the same narrow window, with Incoming Summer Start residents and other Summer II students moving in on Sunday, June 28. For drivers, the practical answer is simple: plan for detours before the first Wallen show even starts, because the road restrictions are already in place while campus is still filling up.
The concert parking plan is broad, but it is not a free-for-all. Many parking lots on campus will be used for paid and free concert parking, and those spaces begin opening at 10 a.m. on Friday. With Memorial Stadium, the summer programs and move-in all pressing on the same roads, the clearest expectation is congestion around the stadium area from the middle of the week through the weekend, and the earliest arrivals will feel it first.
