The Las Vegas Aces go back to Dallas on June 15 with six straight wins behind them, and with the memory of the last meeting still fresh. That was the game the Aces lost at the end of May, the only road-favorite defeat on their season ledger.
That is why Aces Vs Wings is drawing attention again now. A'ja Wilson has been rolling through the streak at 28.5 points per game, and Las Vegas has won those six games with a 75% assist-to-FGM rate. Dallas, though, already showed how it wants to play this matchup. Wilson had 21 points on 10-for-24 shooting in the loss, and the Wings held her to one offensive rebound.
The rebounding numbers are the part that make Dallas more than just the team that ended the streak. The Wings allow the second-fewest opponent offensive boards and the third-lowest second-chance points, which cuts straight at one of the Aces' cleaner ways to turn misses into extra possessions. In the last meeting, Jessica Shepard had 22 points and 20 rebounds over 38 minutes, a reminder that Dallas can make the paint work for longer stretches than Las Vegas would like.
There is still a split between how the teams have been playing around the rim and how they have been surviving elsewhere. The Aces have been winning with pace and ball movement, while the Wings have allowed almost 23 assists over their last three contests. That leaves room for Las Vegas to attack if it can keep the ball moving, but it does not erase what Dallas already proved at the end of May: it can drag Wilson away from the easy second chances that usually make the Aces so hard to stop.
Injuries add another layer to the rematch. Chennedy Carter and Dana Evans are out for the Aces, while Paige Bueckers is probable for the Wings and Odyssey Sims is out. Las Vegas is also 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS as a road favorite this season, but the lone road-favorite loss came in Dallas on May 28. That is the part that lingers into June 15: the Aces arrive with momentum, but the Wings are already the one opponent that has shown they can interrupt it.
