Amazon said Prime Day will return earlier than usual this year, running from June 23-26 and stretching into nearly a whole Prime Week of savings. Early deals were already live before the main event, giving shoppers a head start on the sale.

This year’s window is four days, not a one-day flash sale, and Amazon is using the run-up to push discounts ahead of the main event. Some deals are open to everyone, but Prime members usually get the best offers.
Amazon has made Prime Day its biggest annual savings event, and the company says Amazon-branded products often hit their lowest prices of the year during the sale. The usual targets are easy to spot: vacuums and countertop kitchen appliances can drop by 50% to 60%, while grills, pool accessories, patio furniture sets and lawn supplies often sink to deeper markdowns later in the summer. Warm-weather staples such as sundresses and sunscreen also tend to show up with sharp cuts.
A soft fleece zip-up hoodie was being sold at 55% off, with more than 60,000 five-star reviews, a reminder of how aggressively some items are priced during the event. But the membership model behind the sale stays firm: Prime memberships themselves are not discounted, even as the event is built around Prime member benefits. Amazon says a free 30-day trial is available any time of year, after which the charge is $14.99 per month. People between 18 and 24 years old may qualify for a free 6-month trial.
The contrast with Black Friday is part of what makes the sale stand out. Prime Day tends to concentrate its steepest cuts in Amazon-heavy categories and household goods, while Black Friday spreads major discounts across a different mix of items. For shoppers, the practical takeaway is simple: the dates are set, the early deals are already appearing, and the best window to act is now through June 26.
