Ismael Saibari is now being reported as fully committed to joining Bayern Munich this summer, a development that has left Tottenham Hotspur facing a setback in a chase they had tracked for months. Bayern Munich are pushing ahead, while PSV Eindhoven are left weighing a sale that could shape the rest of their window.
The timing matters because Saibari is not being sold as a fringe target. He delivered 19 goals and nine assists in 37 games in all formats this season and played a crucial role in PSV Eindhoven’s title success under Petr Bosz. That output is why Tottenham kept tabs on him since January 2025, and why Bayern Munich want to bring him to Bavaria now.
For Tottenham, the appeal was obvious. Saibari can play as a No.10, a central midfielder, a wide attacker or a false 9, exactly the kind of range that suits a side in need of new attackers for the new era at N17. They are also without Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert for the start of the upcoming season after both suffered ACL ruptures earlier this year, which has only increased the pressure to strengthen in attack.
But the pursuit has tilted toward Bavaria. TEAMtalk reported that Saibari wants Bayern Munich, and that Bayern have made strong progress on personal terms with the player, a sign that the main battle may be less about convincing him and more about matching PSV’s price. The reported valuation is around €60million, which gives both clubs a clear line to test: either Bayern meet it, or PSV hold firm and wait for a better offer.
That is where the story still has some friction. Tottenham remain in talks with Manchester City for Savinho and have already focused part of their off-season on a defensive revamp by signing Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi on free transfers, but that does not change the fact that Saibari looked like one of the more complete attacking options available. His World Cup call-up for Morocco only adds to the profile around a move that now appears to be moving in Bayern’s direction.
The next step is straightforward. If Bayern are serious enough to match PSV’s asking price, Saibari looks set for Bavaria. If they do not, PSV may be forced to hold out and keep one of their most productive players, even as interest from Tottenham slips further away.
