Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever head to Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday for a Commissioner’s Cup game against the Connecticut Sun, with tipoff set for 5 p.m. CT in Montville, Connecticut.
The matchup has drawn fresh attention because Indiana is riding a two-game winning streak and comes in at 7-5 after a wild 114-106 overtime win over the Chicago Sky on June 11. Clark matched her season high with 32 points in that game, added 10 assists and seven rebounds, and finished a perfect 15-for-15 at the free-throw line. Aliyah Boston scored 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and the two became the first WNBA teammates to post 30-point double-doubles in the same game.
That kind of momentum makes the Fever vs Sun meeting an easy one to circle, especially with Clark’s name still driving search interest and TV listings. Fans can watch on NBC Sports Network or with a Peacock subscription, and viewers in Iowa can also find the game on KCWI and MyTV 8-3.
Connecticut, though, has spent much of the season trying to dig out of a 2-12 start, and the burden has fallen heavily on second-year forward Aneesah Morrow. She is averaging 12.3 points, 10.9 rebounds per game and shooting 41% from the field, but she has not been in the lineup since June 5 because of a left leg strain and is listed as day-to-day heading into Saturday.
That leaves one of the league’s toughest questions hanging over the game: whether Connecticut can make this matchup competitive if Morrow cannot go. The Sun need her rebounding and scoring to match Indiana’s pace, and the Fever enter with both the better record and the hotter form. For now, the next thing to watch is whether Morrow is cleared before the 5 p.m. CT tip.
