has formally appointed executive as a director of the club, with a AP01 filing received on June 10, 2026 confirming the change. The move gives board-level representation at the Reynolds soccer team after its investment in the Welsh club.

Solomon had first been named to the role on February 6, but the appointment was not completed until the filing this week. He is a partner in private equity at Apollo Global Management, which launched Apollo Sports Capital last year as a $5 billion platform focused on sports investments.

The timing matters because Wrexham has been leaning on Apollo Sports Capital to help finance the redevelopment of the Racecourse Ground and the building of the new Kop Stand. Work on the 7,500-seat stand began in 2025, and completion was initially expected next year, with the project carrying a projected cost of $95 million.

What makes the appointment more notable is how small Apollo’s holding is. Its stake in Wrexham was believed to be just under 10 percent, yet it still secured a seat at board level after the deal that valued the club at about $468 million, or £350 million. Apollo had also planned from the outset to appoint a representative to the board after taking its minority stake six months before the formal completion.

Solomon framed the investment as a long-term bet on the club and the city. In December 2025, when Apollo’s involvement was announced, he said the firm was excited to support Wrexham, the local community, and Rob and Ryan, and that Apollo wanted to provide patient capital to help the club reach its goals while aiding the revitalization of the facilities and local economy.

The next marker is the Kop Stand itself. Apollo now has a voice inside the club as Wrexham pushes ahead with one of the most visible parts of its redevelopment, and the open question is how much influence Solomon will have when the board starts weighing costs, timing and the pace of the work.
