Brian Tyree Henry is reportedly headed into Gotham as Harvey Dent, with a new casting report saying he is set to play the future Two-Face in Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II. The same report says the sequel is already underway and remains on track for an Oct. 1, 2027 theatrical release.
That is the part fans are searching for now: who is really taking one of Batman’s biggest supporting roles in a sequel that has been watched closely since Reeves and Mattson Tomlin finished the script. Robert Pattinson returns as Batman, with Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Jayme Lawson and Barry Keoghan all back as well, and Keoghan is again being linked to the Joker.
The report is notable because it places Henry in a character that has long carried outsize weight in Batman lore. Billy Dee Williams played Dent in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman and was originally meant to become Two-Face in a sequel, so any new casting around the role carries instant baggage for longtime fans and fresh curiosity for everyone else.
It also sharpens the picture around a rumor that had already started to drift in another direction. Sebastian Stan is said to be Victor Zsasz, not a member of the Dent family, which runs against earlier fan assumptions about how Reeves might be using that corner of Gotham. The report folds that detail into a larger version of the film as a serial-killer mystery, with speculation still circling the Court of Owls, but there has been no official confirmation from Reeves or the studio.
What matters next is not the speculation itself but whether Warner Bros. or Reeves chooses to lock it down.
