Jalisco’s security and mobility authorities have announced road closures and traffic restrictions around Estadio Guadalajara Zapopan for the 2026 World Cup, setting a map of detours that will stay in place through June. The plan centers on the device known as Última Milla and puts Circuito JVC under a permanent closure for the entire month.
That schedule is why drivers, workers and residents on the city’s west side are searching for answers now. The state has already fixed dates, hours and affected streets, and Jorge Arizpe said the operation will cover the immediate perimeter of the stadium and the secondary corridors that connect with that part of Zapopan.
The initial preparation phase began in late May and ends on June 10, but the harder restrictions begin after that. Circuito JVC will stay closed from the road to the Villas Panamericanas to the intersection with Avenida del Bosque all through June, and temporary cuts are set for June 11, 18, 23 and 26, when the venue will host four World Cup matches.
Those match-day limits will start seven hours before kickoff and remain until seven hours after the final whistle. The main exclusion perimeter will cover the side lanes of Anillo Periférico Poniente and the side lanes of Avenida Vallarta, with additional cuts on Avenida del Bajío, Avenida del Bosque and Avenida Las Torres.
That is the friction inside the plan: the same operation meant to protect order and keep traffic moving also locks down a major corridor for all of June and broadens the restrictions across several roads near El Bajío. The official aim is to preserve security and flow for local spectators and international visitors, but for anyone traveling through the area, the commute will now revolve around the match calendar.
The next change comes on June 11, when the first temporary closure takes effect and the month-long test of Zapopan’s roads begins in earnest. After that, the city’s route around Estadio Guadalajara will reset again on June 18, June 23 and June 26.
