Special agents executed search and arrest warrants at a Marion County home on Tuesday and took Jordan Channing Miley into custody on a string of child exploitation charges. The 37-year-old Yellville man was arrested without incident and booked into the Marion County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
The arrest came after investigators with the Arkansas State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force moved on the residence as part of a case tied to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material and related offenses. Miley faces 20 felony counts of pandering or possessing visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, along with one felony count of engaging children in sexually explicit conduct for use in visual or print medium and one felony count of sexual extortion.
The operation also brought in the Arkansas State Police SWAT Team and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. In a search that unfolded alongside the arrest, investigators seized multiple electronic devices and digital storage media from the residence, the kinds of items that can hold messages, images and records central to these cases.
That evidence is now the part of the case that could widen it. Investigators say additional charges are anticipated once the recovered material is reviewed, a sign that Tuesday’s arrest may be only the first step in what is still an active criminal inquiry.
