Dustin Lynch is headed for a Bravo cameo, and he says the day he filmed it on In the City came with enough drama to make him feel like he was refereeing instead of guesting. Lindsay Hubbard is bringing the country singer into the episode, and Lynch said Thursday, June 4, that the whole thing was timed around a New York City trip that pushed him out of his comfort zone.
He was 41 when he spoke at his fourth annual Pool Situation: Nashville CMA party at the Margaritaville Hotel in Nashville, where he said he and Hubbard had been trying to hang out for a long time. Lynch said he was nervous in New York City and called Hubbard a great tour guide, while Hubbard said he was a natural on reality television and that she gave him a lay of the land before he walked into the group.
That matters because Lynch is not a reality regular, and he said as much when he talked about being on TV. He described the appearance as "not my thing," then added that he felt like a bit of fish out of water but "fell right in." Hubbard, who said it was fun, pushed back on the idea that he was out of place and said he was fully involved once the cameras were rolling.
The cameo also lands against an old layer of speculation. In 2023, Lynch was rumored to be romantically linked to Hubbard, though both have denied being anything more than friends. Their on-camera chemistry has kept that chatter alive, even as Hubbard said Lynch bonded with Yvonne Najor’s husband, Nick Barber, and Summer House alum Andrea Denver during the filming day.
Lynch said there was drama happening during filming and that his first interaction with the cast came at a rooftop bar. "So we had some drinks to flow and really get the emotions going," he said, before playing coy about the cast conflict he witnessed. He also said there was a big bombshell that dropped earlier that day, a detail Hubbard immediately pressed him on, suggesting the episode will have more than a casual cameo when it airs.
The setup leaves the next beat in the hands of the episode itself. Viewers will see how Lynch fits into Hubbard’s world, what the bombshell was, and whether the country singer’s quick stop on In the City plays as a light guest appearance or a more revealing turn inside the show’s cast drama.
