customers who think they qualify for money from a $7.4 million class-action settlement have until June 9 to file a claim. The payout stems from a Trader Joe’s lawsuit over receipts that allegedly printed too much of a customer’s card number.

The settlement website estimates that eligible claimants could receive about $102.45 each, with payments capped at $102. To qualify, shoppers must have made a purchase at a Trader Joe’s store between March 5, 2019, and July 19, 2019, and received a receipt that showed the first six and last four digits of a credit or debit card number.

That detail matters because federal law under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, or , bars businesses from printing more than the last five digits of a card number on receipts. The case was brought by , who said he made a debit card purchase at a Trader Joe’s store in Florida in July 2019 and saw his receipt display the first six and last four digits of his card number.

Trader Joe’s agreed to the settlement earlier this year even as it denied the allegations behind the case, telling claimants in the notice that not all stores printed receipts displaying the first six and last four digits of the card number. No customers have reported identity theft tied to the allegations, but the agreement still offers a cash payout to anyone who can show a qualifying purchase within the narrow window.

Checks are set to go out within 10 business days after final approval, unless there are appeals. A court hearing on settlement approval is scheduled for August, leaving the June 9 deadline as the key date for shoppers who want to be included before the case moves to its next stage.
