America250PA put 250 more free tickets back into the pool on June 3 for its June 6 concert at Erie Insurance Arena, giving Erie fans one more shot at a sold-out night with The Fray and local opener First to Eleven. The tickets are general admission, first-come, first-served, and available only while supplies last or until the concert date.
For people trying to get in, the move matters because the page for the Erie show already read sold out even as the extra tickets were still being released through the website on June 3. As of 1:15 p.m. that day, clicking the tickets tab still sent users to a page where they could secure tickets at.
Han Nguyen said the group had an allocation that was set aside for another purpose and was now being released for this event. Cassandra Coleman said the goal at America250PA is to bring Pennsylvanians together for shared experiences, adding that the first round of tickets went in under 24 hours and showed how much the Erie community wants to be part of the milestone. She said the organization was thrilled to release the final 250 tickets so more neighbors could join the concert as America250PA counts down to the country’s 250th birthday.
The original ticket release vanished fast, and that is the clearest sign that these seats will not linger. America250PA is also offering a draw for two VIP tickets, but fans have to secure a general admission ticket first. Those VIP winners get a spot in a dedicated area near the stage and America250PA merchandise, which makes the remaining general-admission release the only straightforward way for most people to get inside before the June 6 show at 809 French St.
That leaves a simple race against the clock. Erie concertgoers can try their luck at, but the tickets are set to disappear either when they are gone or when Friday arrives.
