Love Island USA returned to Peacock on Tuesday night, kicking off Season 8 with a new group of Islanders, a new villa setup in Fiji and the familiar promise of chaos that comes when attraction becomes a game. Ariana Madix, who toured the space, said it was “designed for maximum romantic impact.”
That is why viewers are searching for what time does love island come on now: the new season is live, the cast is in place and the show is already leaning hard into spectacle. The Season 8 villa sits in the Mamanuca Islands in western Fiji, where the series has been based since Season 5 after earlier runs in California, Las Vegas and Hawaii. The property has two stories and includes a photo booth, a speakeasy, a Soul Ties outdoor daybed and a Say Less waterfront lounge.
Madix also said, “For maximum clarity, all poolside conversations will be captured from a minimum of five flattering angles,” a line that sounds like a joke until you remember this franchise treats flirting like a contact sport. Peacock said more key moments will play out at the firepit and oceanfront boardwalk, the places where the season’s alliances are most likely to crack in plain view.
There is, however, a catch that hangs over the opening episodes. Only 10 Islanders were filming so far after Vasana Montgomery was removed before the first episode, following resurfaced social media videos that allegedly showed her using a racial slur. That leaves the cast one person short at the moment the show is supposed to be building pressure toward the next twist.
Casa Amor is also in Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands, and Peacock described it as a “short traveling distance” from the main villa, which matters because the twist is built to split couples fast and test them even faster. In previous seasons, Casa Amor has added as many as 11 new Islanders to the original 11, and Season 6 turned it into one of the franchise’s ugliest confrontations, with Kaylor Martin, Serena Page, Aaron Evans, Kordell Beckham, Daniela Ortiz Rivera and Daia McGhee all pulled into the fallout.
Love Island USA still has the same endgame: pair off, survive the pressure and chase the $100,000 prize. But Season 8 begins with a smaller starting field than usual, a villa designed to keep every conversation under a spotlight and a Casa Amor setup that could be even more volatile because one seat is already empty.
