Ariana Madix is heading back to the Fijian villa as host of Love Island USA for her third season, with season eight set to begin June 2. The return gives Peacock’s biggest unscripted original another familiar face at the center of a show that has become one of the streamer’s breakout draws.
Madix said the appeal of coming back is partly personal. She called the crew reunion-like, saying it feels as if everyone sees each other on the other side of the world and then does not get to hang out outside that setting. That interest lands at a useful moment for Peacock, which has watched Love Island USA climb over the last two years into its most-watched original unscripted series. Madix, who took over the hosting job during season six in 2024, has become part of the show’s recent surge, and she said she is happy it is finally getting its flowers. She described the series as “an absolute star maker,” adding that no other show does what Love Island USA does.
For Madix, the job is not only about stepping into the villa and greeting a new cast. It is also about how she wants to carry herself when she gets there. She said she does a lot of work in the gym before the season begins and ramps it up so she feels confident, sexy and authoritative when she walks in. That confidence matters on a show built around singles searching for love in a Fijian villa, where first impressions can shape everything that follows.
The pressure is part of the format. Islanders spend their time under bright lights and constant watch, and the relationships they build are shaped not just by what happens in the villa but by the noise around them online. Madix said she likes getting to know them, trying to decipher who they will be before they enter, and then watching how they grow personally and in their friendships and relationships over the course of the season. The first night, she said, is especially fun.
