Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 2 is ending with the Shattered live event, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, June 5. Players who want in are being told to log on early, because Epic Games recommends getting into the game at least 40 minutes before the event starts.
That timing is drawing attention now because this is not just another seasonal reset. The event is tied to the end of a major arc and comes with rewards for anyone who makes it inside: the Chaos Cutlasses Pickaxe for attendees, and the Bark Voyager Sidekick for players who show up with a friend. Epic says players should head to the top row of the Discover tab and click the Shattered tab to join the event in game.
The reason many players are planning around the clock is simple: live events in Fortnite can fill fast, and they do not always begin exactly on schedule. They often start a little late, and packed servers can make it harder to get through the queue once the countdown ends. Fortnite live events usually last about 15 minutes, so the window to get in and stay connected is short even before downtime begins.
What happens next is already mapped out in broad strokes. After the Shattered event, the game is expected to go dark for downtime that could last between 4 and 10 hours, before Chapter 7, Season 3, titled Runners, goes live in the early hours of Saturday, June 6, likely around 4 a.m. ET. Epic has revealed only a little about the event itself, but it is being framed as a major showdown that closes a big arc between the Ice King and the Foundation.
That leaves the final question where the game wants it: not when the next season starts, but what the Shattered live event will actually show when the servers finally open the door.
